    ABOUT THE PROJECT:

    It was a new idea and an innovative concept to make a low cost cooler that would be less in cost and less in power consumption. It works on the principle of reducing the temperature of the air by Evaporation method. The main aim and objective of this project is to supply cool air in a room with less power input and with very less cost and make it affordable to the people belonging to every class.

    BRIDGE DESIGN CONTEST – 9th & 10th March – 2016

    The Department of Civil Engineering, School of Infrastructure in association with ARK technology solutions and IIT madras conducted two days National Level “Bridge Design Contest” (India’s Biggest Civil Championship) at B. S. Abdur Rahman Institute, Chennai on 9th and 10th March, 2016.

    This workshop was given wide publicity among our university departments and also to the nearby engineering colleges. There was huge response from our students to participate in this workshop. A total of 40 students registered including B.Tech and M.Tech students.

    All the bridge models were tested by applying loads. The bridge model which had maximum efficiency was selected for the first three places respectively.

    Ms. K. Suganya Devi received project grant from TNSCST

    Ms.K.Suganya Devi, Final Year, M.Tech (Structural Engineering-Batch 2010-2012) received a project grant under student project scheme of Rs. 6, 000 from Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Chennai for the year 2011-2012.

    Ms.K.Suganya Devi presented her thesis work on “Seismic Response of Exterior Beam-Column Joint Retrofitted with Fibre Reinforced Polymer Composites” in the State Level Student Projects Seminar Cum Exhibition conducted by Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Chennai & Kamaraj College of Engineering and Technology, Virudhunagar on 10th -11th August 2012. She won the Best Poster Presentation award and Second Place in the Paper Presentation competition. This project was guided by Dr. J. Revathy, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering.
