Alumni Talk – Alumni Mentoring Session on “Staying focused and productive in the digital age”
The Office of Alumni Relations & Department of Information Technology conducted an Alumni mentoring session on “Staying focused and productive in the digital age” by our Alumnus Mr. Srihari Sridharan (B.Tech. IT, 2004 Batch), Principal Member of Technical Staff, Athena Health India Pvt. Ltd. on 7th February 2020 @ 11:00 am in Seminar Hall 2, as part of the “Alumni Talk” series.
Crescent Alumni Lateral Hiring (1st Edition)
The Office of Alumni Relations successfully conducted the “Crescent Alumni Lateral Hiring (1st Edition)” event on 1st February 2020 at 10.00 am in Seminar hall 1. (For past 5 yrs. Crescent Alumni – 2019/ 2018 / 2017/ 2016/ 2015 batches).
10+ corporates participated in the event.
225 Alumni registered for the event and over 100 Crescent Alumni attended the event.
Alumni Talk – Alumni Mentoring Session on “Confidence Building Measures”
The Office of Alumni Relations & Department of Computer Applications conducted an Alumni Mentoring session on “Confidence Building Measures” was conducted by our Alumnus Mr.Farhan Ahmed Sheikh (MCA, 2004 Batch), Entrepreneur & Soft Skills trainer on 30th January 2020 at 10.30 am, as part of the “Alumni Talk” series for the 2nd yr computer applications students.

The Office of Alumni Relations & Department of Civil Engineering conducted an Alumni Guest Lecture on “Opportunities in Civil Engineering Field” was conducted by our Alumnus Er. Sudarsanan.S, (B.E. Civil Engg., 2005 Batch) Project Manager Sandvik Asia Private Ltd., Hyderabad on 27 January 2020 at 10.30 am, as part of the “Alumni Talk” series for the 4th & 3rd year Civil Engg students.

The Office of Alumni Relations & Department of management studies conducted a Alumni mentoring session by our Alumnus Mr. S. Ramajagan (MBA, 2012 Batch), Senior Manager (Risk Analytics), HDFC Bank – on the topic “Managerial Jobs Tomorrow“at 10.30 am in seminar hall 2, Convention Centre on 3rd Dec 2019, as part of the “Alumni Talk” series for the 1st year MBA Department students.

The Office of Alumni Relations & Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted a Alumni guest lecture by our Alumnus Mr. Sulthan Syed Ibrahim.H.S (B Tech ECE, 2009 Batch) – Air Traffic Controller, Airports Authority of India, Chennai – on the topic “Applications of RADAR … “ on 8 Nov 2019 at 10.30 am in seminar hall 1, as part of the “Alumni Talk” series for 4th & 2rd year students of the ECE department.
Crescent Achievers Connect 2019 (1st Edition)
Crescent Achievers Connect 2019 (1st Edition) was conducted on 16th October 2019 from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm in the Auditorium, Convention Centre.
Seven prominent Alumni speakers from different sectors were invited. Around 650 First year BTech students attended the event and got motivated by this mentoring session. The Alumni presented their works and shared their achievements to our future achievers.
Alumni visit to “The Crescent Robotics lab 4.0”
After the Achievers Connect 2019 event on 16 October 2019 from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm in the Auditorium, our seven Alumni speakers visited “The Crescent Robotics lab 4.0” in the Mechanical Engineering Department. They were very impressed with the infrastructure and facilities. The ABB Robot (Zurich, Switzerland) – is an industrial robot – ABB IRB 1520ID (model) is used for delivering stable industrial application, with excellent path accuracy (up to 50 microns) and with short production cycle times.

The Office of Alumni Relations & Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a Alumni guest lecture session by our Alumnus Dr. Hariharan, K, Assistant Professor, IIT Madras, (B. Tech Mech., 2004 Batch) on the topic “Current trends in metal forming research … “ on 1st Oct 2019 at 2.30 pm in seminar hall 1, as part of the “Alumni Talk” series for the 4th & 3rd year students of the Mechanical department.

The Office of Alumni Relations & Department of Information Technology conducted a Alumni mentoring session by our Alumnus Mr.Samriddh Mangotra (BTech IT, 2005 Batch) – Assistant Vice President (Finance Change Delivery), HSBC on the topic “The Next Big Thing …“ in seminar hall 2 on 18 Sept 2019 at 2.00 pm, as part of the “Alumni Talk” series to the 3rd & 4th year students of the IT Department.

The Office of Alumni Relations & Department of CSE conducted the first Alumni guest lecture session by our Alumnus Mr. G K Bhaskar (M Tech CSE, 2016 Batch) – Network Security Analyst, Cyber security Works on the topic “Reverse Engineering the Malware …” in seminar hall 2 on 18 Sept 2019 at 10.30 am to the 3rd year students of CSE department, as part of the “Alumni Talk” series to the 4th & 3rd year students of the Computer Science & Engineering.
Website Inauguration and release of the first Newsletter
Our Honourable Pro Chancellor Mr. Abdul Qadir Abdul Rahman Buhari inaugurated the website of Office of Alumni Relations on 13 Sept 2019 and also released the first newsletter of Office of Alumni Relations on the same day. Our Honourable Vice Chancellor received the first copy of the first Newsletter.
“Alumni Talk” – Alumni Mentoring Session on How to prepare for Competitive examinations”
The Office of Alumni Relations conducted an interactive Alumni mentoring session by Mr. Mir Mohammad Ali, I.A.S an alumnus of the class of 2008 (ECE Batch) with the continuing students of ECE Dept & students from the Centre for Competitive Exams on tips to clear UPSC / Competitive exams on 10 July 2019.

Silver Jubilee reunion 2019 (1994 batch) – Alumni-Reconnect
The batch of 1994 of Crescent Engineering College Alumni had their Silver Jubilee reunion in the campus to celebrate 25 yrs of graduation on 6 July 2019. (Civil, Mechanical, EEE, CSE branches) More than 120 Alumni gathered together from various countries and other parts of India / TN to attend the event.

Crescent Flying club
Madras Flying Club and Crescent Institute jointly offers “Student Pilot License”. Interested students are requested to get in touch with the Aerospace Engineering department for further details.
Ford EcoSport
M/s. Ford India Private Ltd has donated Ford EcoSport hybrid model manufactured in their US-INDIA plant to Crescent Institute. This is the first time that a Institute has been presented with such a hybrid model by the corporate. Our Honorable Vice Chancellor received the car who in turn presented to our Registrar. This vehicle will be used by our students for learning and hands-on experience.
